What does "Sync Sounds" mean?

In the Sea Hero Quest ID settings menu, you'll find an setting titled Sync Sounds.

This allows the device to play a specific sound during the different in-game events, such as possible a checkpoint. Audio tones can then be synced with external capture devices.
